Anthony Heukmes – Born 1985-05-01 in Belgium (Liège)

Anthony Heukmes

Bachelor of Computer Science awarded with high distinction (Haute Ecole Rennequin Sualem – Inpres – June 2006).

I’m currently working as a consultant for A-Syst (Luxembourg) and our main customer is Eurocontrol (Brussels).

I have been fascinated by web development for almost 9 years now and I had the opportunity to learn and experiment various technologies. I’m able to drive successful web projects in their integrality because I’ve been involved many times in all phases of this process (analyze, conception, development, graphical interface, SEO, server administration, ...).

PHP and Javascript were my first loves but I rapidly jumped into the Java world and I recently moved to Ruby and his wonderful framework : Ruby on Rails.

My professional and personal activities are now mainly related to Ruby, Ruby on Rails and other technologies based on this language.

I started Java development with classical Swing applications and then followed web development using Servlets/JSP. After this learning curve I discovered many Java tools and frameworks like Spring, JSF, EJB, JPA, Hibernate, Jboss Seam, Oracle ADF & others.

I’ve always been keeping an eye on RIA (Rich Internet Applications) and I have a good knowledge in Flash & Flex (ActionScript 3). I’m using Ajax a lot as well as various Javascript frameworks (Prototype, jQuery, script.aculo.us). I also discovered the SproutCore framework a few time ago.

I have only been developing in C/C++ during high school but I recently started learning Objective-C and Cocoa to develop Mac/Iphone applications.

I’m very interested and convinced by agile methodologies and my main goal is to produce good quality code/software. That’s why I’m using various practices like Test-Driven Development (TDD), refactoring, design patterns, ...

I’m always working on Mac OS X and Linux distributions (Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu) which are my favorite development environments.

I’m a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) so I can tell that I have a certain experience in networks & telecommunications.

My last training took place in Valtech (Paris) and was covering Services Oriented Architectures (SOA).

My resume is available upon request.
